About Chembond Products
We are importers and suppliers of polypropylene fibres for cement rendering mortars to the trade and DIY customer. We have been installing chembond fibre renders since 1983 and are probably the most experienced suppliers and installers of conventional sand and cement reinforced renders in the UK.
These mortars are ideal for rendering:
Walls of domestic and business property
Fish ponds
Water gardens
Swimming pools
Cellar tanking
Quick erection dry bonding walls for farm buildings
They are also suitable for the installation of pebble dash, spar dash, stucco, and smooth renders.

It has long been established that when sand and cement are mixed together with water and left to cure it becomes hard. However, when this mortar mix is rendered onto a brick or block wall there are several factors that govern whether or not it stays there. If there is not enough cement in the mix, the bond to the substrate will be weak, crack and fail. If more cement is added to the same amount of sand the bond will become better, but there is a high risk of cracking.
It is well documented that with a sand and cement ration of 5-1, and 6-1, the cement is often overstretched; i.e. not enough cement. However a 3-1 sand and cement ratio will, in most applications, bond well but incur hairline cracks or mapping. The shrinkage cracking occurs in the first few days drying.
When CHEMBOND fibres are mixed with a 3 to 1 or 2 to 1 sand and cement mortar, this cracking is eliminated. The mortar will bond extremely well. This makes Chembond fibre reinforced mortars suitable for a wide range of applications. Making the life expentancy of the render greater than 50 years, and there is no need for PVA.
Once you have used reinforced render, you will never want to use an ordinary sand and cement mortar mix again. All you have to do is add the contents of the bag to the sand and cement in the mixer
